My boyfriend’s 21st birthday is going to be this September while I’m away in the Military. He loves cars and loves working on them and has expessed to me a dream of buying a COMPLETE P.O.S and restoring it from the ground up. I thought if I could find an old car that needs A LOT of work he’d love to get that to work on as a project. My question is does anyone know of any good sites and/or anyone in the Reading, PA area selling an old/classic car for pretty cheap to restore? Also, what would a piece of crap like that run me? When I say “piece of crap” I mean it. He wants a real project. Thanks for the help guys!

I’m writing a story, and I’d like some opinions on the main characters. I know it might be a little hard to tell without reading the story, but I hope I can get some help with this. The premise is that the main character, who’s a guy, takes a summer job as an au-pair for a semi-wealthy family (only the great grandmother is really rich, and the rest of the family is staying with her for the summer.)
Main Character-Chuck Bowers
Age: 38
Physical description: of medium height, somewhat good looking, neat, straight brown hair, blue eyes
He’s very caring and kind. He can be kind of a pushover, but when provoked is actually quite frightening. He’s always like looking out for others, however feels he’d be an inadequate parent, since his own parents weren’t exactly hands on or particularly nice to him.
Love Interest/Secondary Main Character-Emma Smithson
Age: 38
Physical description: on the short side, quite pretty, long, wavy very dark brown hair, big hazel eyes
She’s one of the matriarch’s grandchildren. She’s very outgoing and witty, laid back with an appreatiation for classic rock and yoga. She can be very stubborn and a little too zealous about her beliefs. Her parents died in a car accident when her brother and she were young.
I’ll do some of the kids Chuck has to look after, since next to these two they really play the largest roles. There are actually 17 of them (I know, big family), but I’m only going to do the first 12, so here’s some stuff on the last few- Belinda, age 8; Wendy, age 7;Carla, age 6, Kristy, age 4; Lulu, age 3. Here are the others:
Kid 1-Haley Greene
Age: 16
Physical description: tall, very pretty, long loosely curly dark brown hair, big green eyes
She’s the eldest of the great grandchildren. She’s kind of like the leader of the kids, and has a bit of a superiority complex as a result. She really is a good kid at heart, very smart and witty. However she can be quite manipulative and sarcastic. She’s very fashionable. Her mother, one of the matriarch’s grandkids, is a prosecutor and puts a lot of pressure on her to follow in her footsteps.
Kid 2-Xander Smithson
Age: 15
Physical description: very tall, kind of awkward now but will become a handsome adult, curly black hair, dark brown eyes
The second great grandchild. He’s a very quiet and smart kid, with a fondness for writing. He is actually quite cynical and sarcastic, but tends to keep his nasty thoughts to himself. His father, a wealthy realtor, left his mother when he was a year old, and his mother recently died. This is his first year back with his father, and things are…tense.
Kid 3- Bradley ‘Brad’ Smithson
Age:15
Physical description: tallish, very attractive, unruly straight golden blond hair, blue eyes
Nicknamed by Chuck to be the ‘King of the Teen Rebels’, Brad has a mile-wide rebellious streak. He is quite the charmer, and, although not book smart, very street smart. He’s got a heart of gold beneath his tough exterior. He actually feels sort of bad that he worries his parents, but is ‘adventurous by nature’ so to speak.
Kid 4-Kayla Smithson
Age:14
Physical description: petite, sort of pretty, long straight pale blond hair, big brown eyes.
Kayla is a very spoiled and somewhat immature girl. She’s quite ditzy and a bit of a mean girl, but she really does care about her family and is sweet deep down
Kid 5 Emmett Smithson
Age 14
Physical description short, quirky looking, ash blond hair, dark brown eyes
Emmett is a bit of a Goth. He’s pessimistic and sarcastic, but is overprotective of his family.
Kid 6 Megan Greene
Age 13
Physical description petite, pretty, pin straight bobbed black hair dark brown eyes with glasses
Haley’s younger sister. Megan is more like their mother, yet still fears disappointing her. An overacheiver, she is involved in various activities and very smart and athletic, but also arrogant and socially naive.
Kid 7 Ivan Smithson
Age 12
Physical description on the tall side, cute kid, wavy black hair, light brown eyes
Xander’s younger half brother. Ivan is a bit of a snob. He’s slightly arrogant and very rude to his elder sibling. He hit on Haley when they first met xD
Kid 8 Amy Smithson
Age 11
Physical description on the petite side, pixie like features, long wavy blondish brown hair, green eyes
Kayla’s younger sister. Amy is kind hearted, artsy and bright, but a bit strange, in a whimsical sort of way. She is somewhat creul at times to her dimwitted elder sister, but always feels a great deal of guilt.
Kid 9 Mitchell Smithson
Age 11
Physical description short, awkward looking, shaggy straight brown hair blue eyes
Emmett’s younger brother. He is an easily worried and neurotic boy.
Kid 10 Roger Smithson
Age 10
Physical description small, cute like a bunny or a baby, straight dark brown hair, big brown eyes with glasses
Brad’s little br
Brad’s little brother. Roger is a child prodigy, very gifted and intelligent. He unintentionally comes off as a know-it-all, constantly correcting others. However, he really does mean well.
Kid 11- Gregory ‘Greg’ Greene
Age 10
Physical description on the tall side, cute, straight brown hair with a cowlick, brownish green eyes
Haley and Megan’s little brother. Greg is adventurous and funny, if a bit spoiled. He gives off the impression of being quite dim, but has a lot of hidden intelligence.
Kid 12- Max Smithson
Age 9
Physical description short, adorable, short straight light brown hair, brown eyes with glasses
Kayla and Amy’s little brother. He is shy, quiet and smart but also insecure. He and Chuck are very close.

For the other five kids, Belinda is Xander and Ivan’s sister, Wendy is Brad and Roger’s sister, Carla is Emmett and Mitchell’s sister, Kristy is the adoptive sister of Brad Roger and Wendy and Lulu is Kayla Amy and Max’s sister.

It’s not a rare valuable car.. but it’s still a beautiful classic, and attracts a lot of attention, especially at a highschool where some kids don’t like me for being ‘different’.
The parking lot has cameras, but I don’t want anyone to mess with my car in the first place..
Would it be a good or bad idea to drive it to school daily?

I have some classic(older) Profile California amps powering my speakers in my car except for my sub which is powered by a new kenwood amp… One Profile amp is hooked up to my 6×9s in the rear deck, whereas the other Profile amp is powering two 5 and a quarter speakers as well as two tweeters personally installed on the circuit. The amps all seem to work well and I have three equalizers also to make the sound superb.

For the past few years the amp powering the 5s and tweeters has an intermittent problem on the left channel where the music will be playing and then that channel will get amplified way too loud compared to every channel. I have payed close attention in an attempt to figure out what the problem is, and I cannot find any correlation to heat whatsoever. Sometimes the problem will happen when its cold, lukewarm, or blazing outside. As for the amp overheating causing the intermittent problem, it has happened on startup but has also happened when getting really hot.

This has really vexed me as most intermittent problems like this are temperature dependent as somewhere in the channel a resistor or a capacitor gets cracked, or a bad soldering joint where all of these problems become more evident when the amp gets too hot. I’m not sure where to look in the amp: transistors, capacitors, resistors, solder joints.

Anybody who has had this problem or thinks they know whats wrong please help me as I love these amps and do not want to upgrade to new amps as they suck if you dont spend a fortune. Thanks so much
