I have a classic car which has been accepted on the scrappage scheme. I collect my new car next week, but in the meantime someone has approached me to buy the Classic. Is this allowed (ie can I withdraw the vehicle from the scheme once it has been accepted and pay the balance in cash?)
thank you those of you replied sensibly, but for those who replied with uncalled for intimations of my ignorance…obviously I wouldn’t expect to benefit from the scrappage scheme money if I wasn’t scrapping my car. It was a genuine question as the dealer had originally said I could withdraw the vehicle right up until the minute I collected the new car, but is now not sure and can’t find out until tomorrow, which is when the gentleman who wants to buy the vehicle is coming a long way to collect it. I don’t really feel I need to worry too much about the dealer’s feelings if he has misled me. It was a genuine question - I am not trying to trick or fool anyone and I think your approach to the reply was rather nasty. Hope you’re pleased with yourselves!!!
