Short story short. Classic random town on a highway. Speed is 80km/h before town, in town it’s 50km/h for 2-3 lights, and after it’s 70km/h then back to 80km/h promptly. I was leaving the town on the main road and was 200-300 meters from the 70km/h sign. I could see it. Provincial/state trooper was on a side street hidden behind trees with all lights off and running. Saw her sitting, then lights flicked. Game over. Got a 77km/h in a 50km/h. I was nice to her and she reduced it to 65km/h in a 50km/h zone. This was also technically a community safety zone so the fines were doubled. This was an OPP officer in Ontario. The total payable amount is $95.

Note I came back about 5 minutes later on the exact same road but went exactly 50km/h. The cars behind me were in my ass and flashing their lights at me. I switched lanes and they passed me like a rocket. Trooper did nothing. I was impending traffic at the posted 50km/h. I was driving a old Honda Accord but it has zero modifications. I have no records on me before of any driving tickets or criminal records. Maybe it was a case of pull over the young male in the old Honda? Not sure. Because they didn’t pull over the other cars the next time when the passed me and were flashing lights behind me…

Anyways. Companies are quoting me $300 to $400 to try and evade the ticket. For 15km/h over, is this worth it for me? I am 19, G class license, no previous infractions, running on my parents insurance as a primary driver. I know my rate will go up for 3 years when after then record would be dropped.

1) What do you think I should do in my situation? Pay the ticket and face it? Or pay a lump sum and and try to get it solved? (What happens if I pay them and the court DOESN’T withdraw the charge, do the companies refund me or something?)

My 73′ duster is one of my favorite cars because it’s the car my dad bought for me when I was 1st getting into buying and restoring classic cars. Back to my question, I wanted to check it’s oil earlier however the dipstick was broken of with well over half of it still in the car. How this happened I haven’t a clue. I’ll have no trouble getting out what’s left of the dipstick when I have more time, but I can’t find a replacement dipstick anywhere. Please point me to a site where I can order one.

Hey everyone, just wanted to share my heartbreaking story and hope I can get something positive back I could really use it right now.
I’ve been an emotional wreck for sometime now, every since last Thanksgiving Day. I’m 35 and had been dating this girl all last summer. We had a great time I fell deeply in love with her and for the first time in my life felt she was the one for me I wanted to share my life with and grow old with. She had a little boy that I grew to love as well just as if he was my own. Anyway she didn’t have a job or a car she was down on life and was living off the government. I wanted so bad to help pull her out of all that. Not to brag but I have a bit of money and am self employed. So I would buy her and her kid anything they wanted for the most part every weekend was a shopping spree for them I didn’t mind at all I loved doing things for them to make them happy. But I did tell her she needed to get a job even if it was at a grocery store would be something to get her out of her apartment and be more active. She said she can’t work because she don’t have a car. Well I’ve been into restoring and selling classic cars for 18 years I’m always buying, selling, fixing, and trading on used cars and motorcycles or anything I can make money on. Anyway I wanted to really do something nice for her and surprise her. I had just finished restoring a 1985 chevy C-10 pickup and had it up for sell. Ended up having someone wanting to trade me a 2005 toyota camry for it. Even though we was a bit off trade value I thought what the heck. It was a little 4 cylinder automatic car very clean in great shape and I thought this would be perfect for Courtney. So I traded with the man just for that reason, I wasn’t worried about making a profit or coming out ahead on this because I wasn’t thinking about myself. I took the car changed the oil, gave it a good detailing, checked it over and took it to her apartment. I handed her the keys and title saying here you go baby doll it’s paid for it’s my gift to you to show you how much I love you! And even gave her the money to have it registered and insured. All was good for a couple weeks until she started calling me all the time asking for gas money. I said that car gets 30 MPGs where you been going? She said just out with friends. Anyway come Thanksgiving Day she did not want me around not even to be calling her phone, again I was paying for. I find out from her neighbor she had been out running around with some guy for some time every since I gave her the car. When I ask about this she came clean and told me yeah I’ve found someone else. I feel apart and ask why baby? She explained to me how he was SOOO much better looking and how she just wasn’t at all attracted to me. I ask after everything I’ve done for you and your son your going to do me like this? She said it is what it is you can’t compete with him hes in a whole different league. I ask where dose he work? She said well hes not I’ve been out helping him look for a job. I said oh ok so he don’t have a job?? LONG PAUSE…. I said let me guess I’m going to say he don’t even have his own car either that’s why you been needing all this gas money so you could run him around in the car I gave to you? She said look it’s over I didn’t know how to tell you but your just not really my type and you best leave me alone and stop calling and texting me or Nick will beat your F—ing A-s and trust me he can no problem so you best back off I’m warning you!!!!
So I’m totally destroyed and heartbroken, and lost in life right now. I’ve not been out working, I’ve lost the drive to do anything, get out there and do my car deals I do. Find fix sell trade ect ect. I’ve been trying to get a engine in my Trans Am for 2 weeks I can’t stay focused on what I’m heck I’m doing for my mind always thinking of her and asking myself over and over and over just what did I do wrong! I get to emotional to work on stuff and sat alone in my house for weeks just wanting to give up. I sold a motorcycle I loved and had forever because I can’t even stand to look at it anymore sitting in the garage and not think of her and the good times we had riding it last summer.She loved to ride that bike with me. I have no one I can talk to I sit in my garage all day looking at stuff that needs to be done yet can’t find the strength or the drive to get up and do it. I feel dead inside the youthful likable guy I was is gone….
I really need help just don’t know where to turn….

I’m 14, and I want to do restore a classic car. This is a trial and error project, I am looking for an earlier 60s model. But depending on how the body looks, it doesn’t really matter. I am also looking for a good stereo system to put in it, if you know of any I would like to know.

okay so i know by law in California you mus have two plates one in the rear and one in the front however i got a ticket for no front plate when the car was parked but here is the thing i own a 1971 camaro ss non rs with split bumpers and not the full bumper cause its ugly so there is no place to mount it even if i tried to hang it it wouldnt work the front of the car is a point so how can i get around this can i just put it on the dash?
