I ordered an HID headlight conversion kit for my ‘66 Mustang from a Mustang place that says the kit will work on classic cars. I followed the diagram and everything looks correct, but they won’t light up. I triple checked the grounds, the connections, etc. There is a plug that connects to the original headlight socket along with a wire that connects to the positive post on the battery, but the lights don’t light up. I reconnected my old headlamps and they work fine. What’s going on here??

Resolved Question: 1976 MGB Convertible, Worth It?

I found a lady who is selling a 1976 MGB in my State, for 3500 bucks.

I want to know, from someone who knows about these cars, is this worth it? Let me describe the condition of this car, that was described to me.

The car has had an engine swap, with the current engine sitting at 20,000 miles. No leaks in the roof at all, and she said it may need brake pads for the front, because they feel like they could be better, but the car stops like it is supposed to.

Other than that, there is a few scratches in the paint here and there, and it leaks a few drops of oil each month, not enough to be concerned about.

If she is telling the truth, (I am taking a mechanic with me to look at the car before I make a decision) Do you think that this car is worth it?

I want to hear from people who know about classic cars, not the people who think just because a car is old, it is not dependable. My 1963 Chevy Pickup runs to this day on the original engine, perfectly fine, never needing anything.

If you guys know about these cars from personal experience, that would be even better!! I know they are little, ive seen a few of them in person.

Thank you so much for your time!

Trying to figure out the name of an old horror movie might have been made for tv, where a killer or demon car goes along the highway killing people, kids who ever. in this movie when they show the view looking from car out the tint was always red but the car was black including windows. It is very very similar to the 1990 movie Wheels of Terror (that was a made for TV)
It is not Duel or the 1977 movie The Car.. I really think it was a made for TV movie. I thought it was wheels of terror but the view from in the car not there. It is filmed in a canyon filled type area and always end up off road . . . . Grrrrrrrr making me NUTZ! lol
It is done so that it seems it is just a demon car no driver (the the car 1977 movie) It MAY have also been like in wheels of terror and kidnapped people but i don’t thinks so.. I remember for sure anytime you (viewer) was seeing from inside of car out Always had a red tint. If not for that i would swear it was movie wheels of terror w/ less kidnapping
This movie from late 80’s or early 90’s was out well before 2000
nope not christine either got all of them on dvd except this 1 lol

Between the two, I’d like to get one of them for my next vehicle.

The benz is diesel, a pure classic, fun, and can get like 36MPG on the highway, but since it is a diesel, repairs are going to be expensive and places like auto zone and napa only carry a limited selection of replacement parts for due to the fact it’s a European brand

The Volvo, also European, is a fun car as well as I got to drive both of them. The one I drove had a turbo, was slick, and just a fun car altogether. About 34ish on the highway, but is gasoline. But since it’s a european car, parts are expensive and hard to come by for some reason other then ordering them online.

Do I really need to take these cars to the dealership to get serviced or can I work on them my own? I’m mechanically inclined and do all the work myself with my other vehicles (Saturn coupe and Toyota pickup) and they run perfect.

Which one would be better in terms or reliability, low maintenance, performance, and easy part selection?

Resolved Question: Should i junk my car?

Well i have had my car for about a year now its still under warranty however its going to end soon and it recently broke down and needs major repairs the warranty is covering it and its a 2004 Cadillac Deville with less than 70k miles on it and needs a new head gasket a rear window assembly and has a loose case causing a transmission leak and leaking axle. Its starting to feel like i got stuck with a lemon…. so the question is…once its fixed do i off it by selling to a dealer or private buyer im really looking into buying a classic car for my daily driving i only commute 40 miles to work and i ride a motorcycle everywhere else so it would only be used for that purpose what is involved in buying a classic car as a daily driver…and what recommendations do you have on the vehicle my limit is 10k at max and i am very mechanically inclined as well…i love american muscle cars 60’s-70’s so should i buy a classic or get a used car for under 10k? please list the types of cars as well…
so with a classic car my plan would be to gut the classic and slowly replace the parts with newer technology brakes, engine, transmission, etc… so parts are more easily available.
If i were to get a newer vehicle im currently looking into a nice used lincoln town car or ls seeing as they are pretty reliable and fairly affordable….any recommendations as to what i should do?

I was wondering this question because i know cadillac stop making eldorados after 02 models. I have a 97 with 91xxx miles convertable imitation top gold trim all around. Is this car worth keeping or stored??

Voting Question: 1974 Dodge Challenger as first car?

I’m turning 18 and getting my drivers licences. I love classic american muscle cars and thinking of buying a 74 challenger off craigslist that runs and fixing it up and repainting it etc. But what I want to know is how the insurance gonna be like is it gonna drive well in winters and summers, hows the gas mileage gonna be, maintenance and so on.

Open Question: Heartbroken need help….?

Hey everyone, just wanted to share my story and hope I can get something positive back.
I’m an emotional wreck right now every since Thanksgiving Day. I’m 35 and had been dating this girl all last summer and she had a little boy that I grew to love as my own. Anyway she didn’t have a job or a car was living off the government and I wanted to help pull her out of all that. Not to brag but I have a little bit of money and I bought her and her kid anything they wanted. I told her she needed to get a job even if it was at a grocery store it would be something to get her out of her apartment some. She said she can’t she don’t have a car. I’ve been into restoring and selling classic cars for 18 years I’m always buying selling and trading on used cars and motorcycles. Anyway I wanted to really do something nice for her and surprise her. I had just finished restoring an old chevy pickup and had it up for sell. Ended up having someone wanting to trade me a 2005 toyota camry for it. It was a little 4 cylinder automatic car very clean and in great shape and I thought this would be perfect for Courtney. So I traded with the man, changed the oil and checked it over then took it to her apartment. I handed her the keys and the title to the car and said here you go baby doll it’s paid for and even gave her the money to have it registered and insured. All was good for a couple week until she started calling me all the time needing gas money. I said that car gets 30 MPGs where you been going? She said just out with friends. Anyway come Thanksgiving Day she did not want me around not even to be calling her phone again I was paying for. I find out from her neighbor she had been out running around with some guy. When I ask about this she came clean and told me yeah I’ve found someone else. I feel apart and ask why baby? She explained to me how he was SOOO much better looking. I said after everything I’ve done for you and your kid your going to do me like this? She said it is what it is you can’t compete with him. I ask where dose he work? She said well hes not right now I’ve been out helping him look for a job. I said oh ok so he don’t have a job?? LONG PAUSE…. I said let me guess he don’t have his own car either that’s why you been needing all this gas money so you could run him around in the car I gave to you? She said you best leave me alone or Nick will beat your ass and trust me he can no problem.
So I’m totaly heartbroken and lost in life right now. I’ve not been out working I’ve lost the drive to get out there and do my car deals I do. Find fix sell trade. ect ect. I’ve been trying to get a engine in a Trans Am for 2 weeks now can’t stay focused on what I’m doing for my mind always thinking of her and what I did wrong and get to emotional to work on stuff. I’ve sat alone in my house for weeks just wanting to give up. I sold a motorcycle I’ve had forever just because I can’t look at it with out thinking of her because she loved to ride that bike with me. I have no one I can talk to I sit in my garage all day looking at stuff that has to be done yet can’t find the strength or the drive to get up and do it.
I need help just don’t know where to turn….

We recently bought a ‘66 mustang. Our 3 1/2 year old has been begging for a spin, previous owners installed seat belts in the front seat, needless to say the car doesnt have airbags. So I was just wondering if it is illegal to place a front facing carseat in the front seat? Since the backseat doesnt have seatbelts. It wouldn’t be for longer than 10 mins aroud our neighborhood but im still curious
